Jim Turns 70

July 13, 2011

Jim Bornzin turned 70 on July 5, 2011. Kermit the Frog used to say, “It ain’t easy bein’ green.” I’d like to add, “And it ain’t easy turnin’ 70!” It was hard enough to know I was in my 60’s, but it wasn’t too bad, ’cause I didn’t feel it. Now, I must admit I am 70, AND I am feelin’ it! Thanks to all my family and friends who have wished me a happy birthday; I do appreciate the love and good wishes.
Once again I find myself asking what’s next? Travel? Scissor-cutting? Another novel? Painting? Or just the usual home maintenance, lawn mowing, do the dishes, etc?
Just enjoyed a visit from Bert and Amy Nyman, friends from Northwestern University, who stayed with us a couple of days and toured Silverton and Portland. We had become re-acquainted during our time in Rockford. It was fun reminiscing about Lutheran Campus Ministry and mutual friends from Northwestern, and hearing about news from the churches in Rockford, IL.
